We screwed up the flag stand at the beginning - we sent two guys, they used two guys to doublecap, and we failed to attack their rebound aggressively enough to force a boost. That put us in an ugly position of having to try and force another flag in, they knew it and moved Paladin over to shore up flag defense, forcing us to move the battle to the flagstand. They of course raged our backs the whole way there, and overly aggressive running of the flag in wiped the team.
Anyway, when sitting at your lord the goal is always to use your NPCs to weaken them a bit, then roll them up in a big push. Right before the 18 minute mark we dropped Awowa right in the gap that forced a base res. That left them with one monk in front of our base for a good 50 seconds, and that let us rock Stepn over and over again. They didn't cut their losses fast enough and we got to wipe their team because of it.
They played VoD well for their position, moving out aggressively to prevent us from dictating the whole game to them, but we won the key duels that they set up. They attacked early at VoD to make us retreat from them to the flag stand, but we stalled enough to get our NPCs to the flag stand first, which was more than enough to turn the battle around despite the deaths we took getting there.
It was a great match, beginning to end - it's matches like that one that make this game worth playing. =)
Peace,
